ReSurge President and CEO Wins Health Care Heroes Award

This morning, the Silicon Valley Business Journal hosted its annual “Health Care Heroes Awards,” in which they highlight the top men and women in the Silicon Valley health care industry. ReSurge’s President and CEO, Susan W. Hayes, was one of three finalists in the board member category for her active role as a board member at Good Samaritan Hospital. Shortly after the breakfast ceremony began, she was announced the winning nominee!

Susan has served as ReSurge’s President and CEO for more than 16 years; in that time, she ushered ReSurge through a strategic evolution from a direct-service organization to one that also educates overseas medical professionals and builds permanent surgical capacity in developing countries. For the last 3 years, Susan has been able to contribute her international health care experience and her expertise in board governance to Good Samaritan Hospital as a highly committed board member. Good Samaritan Hospital nominated Susan for this award.

National Nurses Week 2012

This week we are celebrating National Nurses Week with the theme of “Nurses: Advocating, Leading, Caring.”  Here at ReSurge, we are fortunate enough to continuously witness the extraordinary contributions of nurses both domestically and abroad.

Just recently, our volunteer nurses hosted an all day conference on burns and nursing. They spent their day-off work learning how to better treat burn patients around the world—a true testament of their dedication and passion for their work.
