Many of us were deeply touched by the tragic events that occurred at Sandy Hook Elementary School. With senseless acts of violence, whether they occur domestically or abroad, we are always left wondering why and what we can do to prevent them from happening again.
Although the issues surrounding theses tragedies are complex, many of us seek comfort within our communities, beliefs and each other.
Recently, our long-time donor, Michael Donner, sat down to reflect on this recent tragedy. He and his Barco’s Nightingales Foundation have provided more than 1,600 surgeries to children in need around the world. Like most of us, he felt overwhelmed by the news coming out of Newtown. He decided that the best way to honor these innocent victims was to make a donation of $30,000 to ReSurge in order to provide a second chance at life to children like them overseas.
ReSurge is tremendously grateful for this donation from the Barco’s Nightingales Foundation, their gift of surgery for children in need, and for the opportunity to help honor the innocent lives we continue to grieve.
