Photo of a clinic day at the Aerons in Dehradun, India.
Dr. Yogi Aeron has been a plastic surgeon in India for more than 40 years. He was one of the only ones in the region around Dehradun, India when he first began. Now, joined by his son, Dr. Kush Aeron, they restore hope for hundreds of burn survivors who live in poverty each year.
Since Kush was a boy, it has been their family’s work to help those who have no other access to the care. Kush remembers living in a small home that doubled as a clinic; one half of their two-room home was dedicated to the patients who needed their help. There, they helped transform the lives of disabled burn survivors from ones of debilitation and desperation to ones of hope, of having again the freedom to walk, move their arms, work and go to school.
When asked why they do what they do, Yogi replied, “The pleasure you get from helping a patient is much more than money can buy.”
For their devotion and good work, ReSurge is pleased to honor Drs. Yogi and Kush Aeron this Saturday, November 9, at the Transformation Gala. We hope you will be able to join us to celebrate these humanitarians and others.
