We are excited to announce that ReSurge and our Global Burn Project were selected as one of the project partners for Stanford's Design for Extreme Affordability course, beginning in January.
This course is a collaboration between Stanford's d.school (Hasso Plattner Institute of Design), the Graduate School of Business and its School of Mechanical Engineering. In the class, students learn to design products and services that will change the lives of the world’s poorest citizens. ReSurge is one of just eight organizations chosen this year to be a project partner. Previous partners have included TechnoServe, d.light, Miraclefeet and Project Healthy Children.
If you're interested in learning more, Extreme Design, a documentary on the course, premiered on PBS last week. It is available to view in full here for the next two days. CNN also did a shorter piece on them in May.
We are thrilled to have this opportunity to work on our burn program in Nepal with these course participants. The first representative will travel to visit our Surgical Outreach Program in Nepal at the end of this month. Stay tuned for more updates!
