A happy father holds his son after his cleft was repaired by a ReSurge team in 2011.
It’s a new year and ReSurge International is excited to kick off 2014 with a team trip to Southeast Asia. On Friday, January 3, 2014, a group of 12 volunteers left for Phan Rang, Vietnam despite inclement weather at several airports.
ReSurge has a long history with Vietnam, which began more than two decades ago. Since the first trip in 1990, ReSurge has provided more than $30 million of medical assistance to the people of Vietnam.
The volunteer team will remain in-country for the next two weeks and work closely with our international partner, Dr. Hien Thi Nguyen, to perform reconstructive surgeries for the underserved population in the surrounding areas.
Team members include: Chris Connor, Eric Mooney, Richard Gillerman, Carter Dodge, Jeremy Deer, Betsy Trefts, Claire Donahue, Trish Sweeney, Wendell Alderson,Tina Cerruti, Tue Thu Khoa and Sophia Trieu.
Stay tuned for more updates on the team’s progress.
